Today vehicles are equipped with a myriad of functions, including various screens and physical controls integrated into the dashboard. However, ensuring discoverability amidst this complexity is crucial for enhancing user experience. In this session, Duncan will explore the importance of discoverability in vehicle interiors and examine strategies for suppliers to support this aspect. With the need for interiors to evolve to meet changing demands, Duncan discusses the approaches to ensure that users can easily find and access the features they require at the right moment, striking a balance between innovation and practicality.
Duncan is a Technical Specialist for Physical HMI at Jaguar Land Rover. He previously worked for an ergonomics consultancy supporting projects in the consumer, oil & gas, and rail industries. He has 21 years of experience in the automotive industry primarily in the Research and Human Factors areas and has worked on numerous vehicle projects including the new Range Rover, Range Rover Sport, and Defender.
Duncan has a Master's degree in Human Factors from the University of Nottingham, UK and is a Chartered member of the Institute of Ergonomics & Human Factors.
